utility bill surprise - Fenney Back Billing
 

I went online today to review my utility bill and found that it was much higher than normal. There was a line item in the bill called "FENNEY BACK BILL" for $140 that caused the unexpected additional charge. Have any of you seen a charge like this on your Villages Utility bill? I'll give the the CDD Utility folks a call on Monday but I would appreciate any light you may be able to shed on a charge like this. Thanks in advance.

Same here in the Hammocks. Doesn't seem correct since the water is metered and has a stated cost per gal.

Call Customer Service about this.

It appears there may have been a mention of it in a past What's Happening Newsletter but I can't find an archive of those.

Thanks for the replies. I called Customer Service yesterday and today. No one picks up. I did leave a message and sent an email so hopefully I will find out what the additional charge is all about.

The states public utility commission should have info on this. They approve all the rates and depending how long it took for them to approve rates or how it was written when submitted must have resulted in this fee.
