Quesion about concrete block, 1094 sq ft villa insurance

My insurance preminum went up $1000 from last year. $2100 - $3100. I would like to know what others are paying for same property, 1094 sq ft concrete block villa.

I would really apreciate any replies. $3100 a year seems very high for a 1094 sq ft villa.

Thank you.

I just renewed my policy this month with Progressive for $880 per year. 6 year old concrete courtyard villa.

OP, there are other issues that could affect your insurance costs, is it bundled with auto insurance, the age of the house and roof, prior claims, building roof construction, your deductibles, etc. Our house is twice the size of yours, concrete block 2013 vintage, and the CURRENT insurance is lower than yours prior to your increase. I expect there will be an increase when it comes up for renewal. We use Progressive, you may want to start shopping around.

OP, if the issue is the age of your roof, buying a new roof may be the most economical thing to do.

Your credit score as well as your driving record is also taken into consideration. You also have to compare your coverage with others like how much liability do you carry, what is your deductible, etc.

True, but the OP's premium is more than 3 times as much as my premium for a similar house. I have $500K liability (the maximum allowed), $300 standard deductible, sinkhole coverage, and hurricane coverage. If the roof is not the issue, I think the OP really needs to shop around.

Our Villa is 1460 sq feet and this March will be 4 years old. Not sure what the increase will be yet but we were around $1000 for last years bill.

So I just looked ours up, this past year it was $900 and this coming year it will be $1200.

Keep shopping. Some of my quotes were double what they should be. Put the Villages insurance to work. Contact State Farm, Progessive and others. Can’t have enough quotes

Rates have no rhyme or reason. Your current company has told you they don’t want your business. They prey on inertia

It doesn’t matter what others are paying - you should check around every time you have a spike in your price.

If a veteran, go to USAA.

mrf0151 01-04-2023 08:23 AM

$630.00 USAA annual premium for our just under 1200 sq. ft. Patio Villa. Just renewed as the premium was $570.00 last year.
