Has anyone used Cost Plus Drugs for prescriptions?

I have a friend who is a type 1 diabetic...had a late adult onset diagnosis, and this is all new to her... and she was telling me about Cost Plus Drugs (Mark Cuban's company)...The cost of a one-month supply of each Part D-covered insulin is capped at $35, and you don't have to pay a deductible. If you get a 60- or 90-day supply of insulin, your costs can’t be more than $35 for each month’s supply of each covered insulin. "The Inflation Reduction Act’s $35 per month cap on the out-of-pocket cost of insulin goes into effect in January — but it’s only for older people on Medicare. That leaves behind millions of younger people with diabetes in the U.S. who need the drug to live.

According to the RAND Corp., a public policy think tank, the average list price for one vial of insulin in the U.S. in 2018 was $98.70, up to 10 times more than other Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries. People with Type 1 diabetes need two or three vials per month, according to the American Diabetes Association; people with Type 2 diabetes may need even more.

Cost Plus Drug Co. is considering a test program for insulin that would offer a 90-day supply of insulin, or a total of 12 vials, for $170." This is huge and clearly a needed....my friend is 47 and is not yet able to take advantage of the benefits of Medicare.......just wanted to share this, in the event you haven't heard of Cost Plus!!

generic cialis

Last month I signed up for cost plus, and had my doctor's office forward the prescription to Cost Plus. You need to have a cooperative doctor's office staff to complete that paperwork, but mine did it and my cost for a 90 pill prescription went from $88 down to $12.50. I did not give Cost Plus any insurance information and still received this great lower price.

You were paying way too much. Check the price on goodrx.com.

$12.50 vs. $88! It's crazy! I was reading about one of the drugs they offer, Imatinib, a leukemia medication with a retail price of more than $2,500, is just $14.40 at Cost Plus Drugs. That price is for everyone, regardless of whether you have health insurance. It really puts into perspective the markup of drugs...$2,500 to stay alive...compared to $14.40. Just insane. Thanks for the reply!!!

You're so right!!! And even with that said, I just posted about the leukemia drug that is over $2000/month...$1500/month at GoodRX and $200 a year at Cost Plus!

I want to thank the OP for posting this, I had never heard of Cost Plus, but knowing that Mark Cuban is behind this business you KNOW it has to be good.

Just yesterday I filled a 90 day prescription for Telmisartan, BP med. I paid about $140 for 90 days, I just checked with Cost Plus and find I can get it from them for about $27 plus shipping. Unbelievable and I have to think that once this drug company is well known, others will follow. About time someone did something about cost of drugs in this country.

It looks like you can buy that drug at Winn Dixie for $23.93 with a GoodRx coupon.

Another source for low cost drugs is Sam's Club. You can use the pharmacy even if you are not a Sam's member. But, if you become a Sam's Plus member, you can buy a 30 day supply of many drugs for about 5 dollars. Note that Sam's does not accept GoodRx coupons.

I can get Cost Plus shipped in two days and do not have to drive to either Sam's or other pharmacy and stand in line. I have been buying my drugs out of Canada and Cost Plus is even cheaper than them.

"Cost Plus Drugs" by Mark Cuban

Been using Cost Plus Drugs for now one year. Saved a lot of wasteful prescription dollars using my RX plan.

As well by using CPD your prescriptions do not go toward your RX Gap.
.
Remember CPD offers only "Generic Drugs" at this time. Monthly they add more and more.
.
I told my Doctor about CPD and now they recommend it to other patients.
.
Happy saving on your overpriced prescriptions with your RX plan or if you have no coverage either.

90 day prescription of Raloxifene cost $145 at cvs, only $18.80 at Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus, & that price includes the $5.00 shipping fee. Big difference! Once you place your order, it ships & you receive it within a week. Not all drugs are available, but they’re always adding new ones.

Wow…pretty amazing. Thanks for posting this information. What’s the process to order from CPD and what address is used for the doctor to fill the script? Thank you in advance!
