Wanting Referrals for Alternative/Integrative Medical Professionals

I am searching for somewhat nearby medical docs (MD, ND, DO, DCs, DDS, DVM), PCPs, PA, Acup, LMT, and/or Homeopaths whom I can see for my own personal medical needs. If you have found any, please send me any info you might want to share. I'm also interested in Regenerative Medical professionals. If you have contact info please include that too. If you don't use these kinds of professionals, please do not send me any of your personal, badgering comments. I, like everyone else, am just wanting sincere info and thanks.

OK, here's some sincere information: That list includes everyone from legitimate medical professionals to outright quacks. Very hard to give specific information unless the list is narrowed down.

Just do a google search for "medical near me" or "medical near [your zip code]". You'll find pretty much as complete a list as is possible, much more than anyone here can provide. There are literally THOUSANDS of medical providers, and alt-med providers, and non-med-fake-med providers, within 20 miles of The Villages.

Dr. Terpstra is a board certified ophthalmologist at Lake Eye, but she is a DO.

I wouldn't jump to discount a D.O. as being in some way inferior. Medical and Osteopathic schools are for the most part similar, outside of the obvious differences in the faculty and the somewhat easier admission criteria. But after school, the most important factor is where they did their residency. A D.O. who does a family practice residency at an Osteopathic hospital does 6 months each of medicine, surgery, pediatrics and OB-GYN, all supervised by other D.O.s that did the same thing. For the most part they are to be avoided. On the other hand, a D.O that does an Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins, possibly followed by 3 years of a subspecialty fellowship should be just as qualified as an MD

Sounds like your ophthalmologist was able to secure what is an extremely competitive residency, I would have no reservations about seeing her.

I wasn't discounting her. She did surgery on my eye, and I would recommend her.

Rather than asking complete strangers who are anonymous, may I suggest you turn your insurance card over and call their referral line to find an MD who accepts that insurance. Then, go to a somewhat professional website such as Healthgrades.com for ratings. I am a nurse; just because an MD has a nice personality doesn't mean he/she is a good doctor. At
the last hospital where I worked, the most popular ortho doc also had the most infections and complications on his patients. No nurse would go to him. And no, I do not work at any local hospital so I cannot make recommendations.

Did that doctor have poor ratings on Healthgrades?

Homeopathy is fake. A scam. Should not be legal.

Why would you ask about that?

Healthgrades is a joke.

Their top rated ophthalmologist in my town has been dead for 30 years.
Their top rated primary care doc had his license suspended and was kicked out of Medicare/Medicaid for fraud.

You'd be surprised at how many people go out of their way to seek out this crap.
