Mickeylee Pitch & Putt

Mickeylee pitch & putt was supposed to open today. Did anyone play it? If so, what was it like?? How does it compare to Richmond or Marsh View?

Yes played it today. Nice course and easy to walk. Greens were incredible, probably because they are brand new. Haven't played Richmond yet but it's nicer than Marsh View. Pretty forgiving, as I remember only having to hit over water twice, and it wasn't hard.

I’ve played it twice. Love it. In my opinion, I feel that Richmond is the most challenging of the 3 pitch/putt courses…with it’s water/marsh hazards and a a few longer holes. MickeyLee was great…the longest hole is number 18 where the yardage is 112 yards (or so)….the rest are 60-92. Nice way to get great exercise and meet new people on walking 18 holes together! I will be regularly playing all 3 of them.

is MickeyLee a straight 18 like Richmond or do you return to the starter shack after 9 like at Marshview?

I checked the course layout on Golf TV site. ML is more like Marshview, number nine is right near the Shack, so easy to play nine unlike Richmond.

Did you have to wait long to play, as I understand you do t need a tee time.

Yesterday I got started a few minutes before my tee time; you need a reservation just like the executive courses and the other PNPs.

Yes very nice course and layout/design. Putting greens challenging, quiet. Better than Marsh View and Richmond. Can do only 9 if you want.

Is there plentiful parking for cars? Is there anywhere nearby to eat?

Plenty of space for car and golf cart parking.

Nearest place to eat is Sawgrass (about 2.5 miles) or Magnolia Plaza (about 5.5 miles).

Where is Mickylee located please? Found it!

villager7591 01-26-2023 10:21 AM

Mickylee is about 2 miles south of Homestead rec center. The course is on the right side of Meggison as you go south. The sign for the course is not labeled yet so somewhat hard to find...it's behind the postal station.
It's like Marsh View in that after ninth green, you're back at the starter shack. Two holes have 150+ yd walk to the next tee.
FUN course, greens are great. It does not have the swampy areas that seem to plague Richmond.

Tvflguy 01-26-2023 08:23 PM

Played there today. Yikes it’s a long way down there. Like three miles past Southern Oaks. Easily got a tee time on the system a couple days ago.

We only played the front nine. Really nice course. Much like Richmond rather than Marshview. That is good. The condition of ML was fabulous. Greens like undulating velvet. The contours of the course are very inviting and like a real golf course.

After a few holes I was surprised about the open areas between holes. They really could have condensed the course more and had more area for building homes. Happily surprised. The entire area when done should be great, new putting course etc being built nextdoor.

I loved the design that #9 ends right near the Starter as that’s about all we wanted to play.

They planted a BUNCH of nice palms and other trees that will make it a very nice environment. Great job Folks!
