Squealing when cold
When cold my 2020 Yamaha makes a squealing noise. It will slowly stop w//no problem until it isn't used for a while. Had it serviced in November.

First thing I would try is removing the belt and cleaning the clutch surfaces (brake cleaner on a rag works). I would then clean any dust off the belt with something simple like a wet cloth and reinstall. This might not be the cause of the problem but it's the first thing I would try. |
I squeal when I'm cold. A hot cup of coffee usually stops the squealing. And a donut doesn't hurt, either.

Is it brake squeal ? Brake pads are comprised of metallic/organic compounds. If your carts not used your brake rotors may get rusty… BUT if your Generator belt or Drive belt is loose or drying out Replace them . Very inexpensive and easy to do! Identify the source and it will save you some money! Good luck

As stated- rubber belt on steel clutches...its a common issue on the Quiet tech carts, goes away when warmed up.

I have the 2014 Yamaha model, does "rubber belt on steel clutch" apply to me too?

Look under the seat and you should see two rubber belts. One thin belt runs from the starter motor and another, wider belt runs between the two clutches. |
Replace the drive belt. In the owners manual there is a specified width for the belt
|
You can also try to replace the belt and/or put a shot of grease in the Zerks.
