They came for Roald Dahl last week - this week they are coming for James Bond!

According to reports, the James Bond books are being edited to avoid offending people.

Report: James Bond Books Being Rewritten To Remove ‘Racist And Sexist’ Remarks – Summit News

I’ve read the books seen the movies.

I just read that the publisher of Roald Dahl’s books backed off after public backlash. That’s a good sign. But we don’t have enough good signs.

Book banning is coming from extremes on both sides.

This country has lost its collective mind.

I was glad to read though that teenagers are starting their own book clubs to read and discuss banned books.

More people need to be aware and to speak up.

This is all about publicity to sell books or promote an agenda. Almost nobody is reading James Bond books.

Dislike censorship. The works should stay close to what their original author's intended and not be whitewashed to fit some prude's desire about what it should say.

These fools are getting out of hand. If people do not like the words of the book not too hard to not read them.

Bond girls often have very unusual sounding names. In the early days of Bond, it was typical for many Bond girls to have names which were smutty double entendres, examples of these would include Honey Ryder, Pussy Galore, Plenty O'Toole, Chew Mee, Agent XXX, Dr. Goodhead, Onatopp and so on.

Theses thoughts could be applied to rewriting history books.

They do apply. Facts are facts no matter how much spin are put on them.

King James Version - Wikipedia

I minored in Religious Studies and found it interesting on how they translated The Bible to fit the views of the rulers who held sway over the interpreters.

Very true but very often Bond girls were also heroines. Again who is being forced to read the books?
