Mobile WIFI available in The Villages?
 

Do any companies provide mobile WIFI (non wired into house) in The Villages? I’m renting a house that doesn’t have WIFI and looking for options.

Can't help with your main question, but as a temporary measure all rec centers have free WiFi.

I think T-Mobile does but it is not available everwhere in TV. You need to check your location.

We use T-mobile. Simple plug it in and you can take it home with you when you leave and use it most anywhere. Before that, here in the Villages, we used Century Link
( check to see if it's available to your address) and you could cancel it or put it on hold when you left. Both worked well, CL just a little better I think. But we take the T-Mobile router home with us when we go back North

- Your cell carrier probably provides wifi and your phone *might* have personal hotspots enabled

- xfinity used to enable you to get bandwidth through a neighbor's modem if the neighbor had not disabled that feature though they might have restricted that to only xfinity customers

- At about $60/month, the 5G offerings from T-Mobile or Verizon might be worth looking into

T-Mobile and Verizon both offer wireless home internet service in many areas of TV. Most cell providers will allow you to use your cell phone as a hotspot with data limits and sometimes a huge fee for overuse. My data limit with Verizon is 40GB and is slowed after that with no fee. If you are only web browsing 40Gb / month will be more than enough. One or two movies a month should not put you over a 40GB limit. One movie or TV show a day will put you over the limit so check that your plan has no added fee.

Verizon and T Mobile both have it, check with them for availability in your location.

Use your iphone as a wifi hotspot. If your current carrier doesn’t provide this, change carriers. Much cheaper to do this than to get another service into your house. Also, the later iPhones provide a better 5G signal than the older phones

Yes T-Mobile has it. I got it about a year ago and it suits my needs . I use it for several computers, phone and ALL my tv is thru it. My tv is thru a box purchase +$25 channel service fee. This is the B Smart system. I also use Amazon fire stick.

Google T-Mobile and go to web site to check availability of your specific address.

If available, sign up, 15 day free trial, service $50 per month.

Plug and play out of the box installation.

We cut the cable about a month ago using T-Mobile and Direct TV Stream.

I haven't seen anywhere in TV that Verizon's service is available? T-Mobile in very limited areas and, of course, not mine.

Several options:

1) use your cell phone as a mobile wifi hotspot, but bandwidth is limited

2) go to any cell phone provider (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc) and get a dedicated cellular hotspot. You can get it with a prepaid SIM card, or subscription. Bandwidth is also less than "wired" house.

3) There are satellite providers, but that requires an antenna that your landlord may not allow.

The house has no TV? Landlord can add Internet to TV service.

If you have Tmobile, the Magenta Plus plan has unlimited Wifi hotspot off your phone. Not sure that helps you any. There is also the 5G options that the carriers provide. You can get a Tmobile 5G hotspot. I think, but not sure, if it is month to month.

I certainly hope you are not paying a rental amount the same as a rental proving Wi-Fi.
