Rolled Vinyl Flooring
 

Love my brand new patio villa - and aesthetically, the rolled vinyl flooring is pleasing to the eye - but after only three months of extremely gentle and cautious living, I have two tears in the flooring, and after moving the couch today, discovered four fairly deep dimples in the flooring - so, I’ve decided to rip out the new flooring for something else - any suggestions? I have carpet in both bedrooms, and thinking of taking that out too while I’m at it. Should I put the same flooring throughout entire home, or do I need something different in bathrooms? Thanks

Same happen in our first PV and Cottage. For some reason nobody swept the concrete before putting down the vinyl. Small bumps, then holes appeared after a few months. When floors removed there was debris everywhere.

If you are taking out carpet and maybe going with luxury vinyl, I would rip out the baths also. That way all your floors will be uniform

Thoughts on calling the warranty group at the Villages? Shouldn’t rip so easily…..right?

I installed Mohawk Luxury Vinyl Plank from Lowes in 2 bedrooms, 1 hallway and 3 closets. This product (now over 2 years old) is IMHO excellent. It is 100% waterproof, very easy to install, NO underlayment (per manufacturers instructions), go directly over the concrete, and is relatively quiet, almost a quiet as carpet. I have moved heavy furniture over this surface (with the required felt pads on the furniture) with NO marked, NO dimples, etc. Also, this flooring is very flexible, can be cut with a box cutter (NO dust), and was a very reasonable cost when we bought this, around $2.50/square ft.
I did the project myself, and saved a ton of money.

Too bad for us too. We have rolled vinyl flooring too. We have cups under the legs of our living room chairs to protect the floor. Anything heavy without a cup will make a dent.

A good quality vinyl plank is the way to go. I installed some in my youngest sons house and it is durable, quiet and super easy to clean. We have carpet in our house because we are both prone to plantar fasciitis but if not for that we would have vinyl plank.
