Square One new ownership

We’ve eaten at Square One in Pinellas plaza many times. Always great burgers and onion rings plus more choices. And nice Happy hour. Lots of in/out seating.

But… over the past year it’s been hit and miss. Service has always been competent but kitchen staff and food prep not consistent. We went for early dinner after golf yesterday afternoon. Great service and the burgers were the best we’ve had there. Perfect.

The new owner, Dean Turner, stopped by our table and was extremely friendly and caring. He is dedicated to improving the customer experience and quality.

Nice to know one of our fav places is in good hands.

Nice to hear a positive new ownership story. Too often it seems to be the other way around. Good luck to the new owner. Looking forward to trying a burger there.

Last week I ordered a burger "medium". There was no visible pink in the meat. That is not medium but I didn't say anything, just ate it. Must admit, the flavor was great even though it was overcooked.

It's about time! Maybe I might go back after new owner is acclimated.

That's one thing I notice when coming to Florida, waitress will always say pink
when ordering a burger rare or medium rare.

80% of the time it will come to your table well done.

Totally agree - most restaurants for most meat, fish, etc. We now order meals Medium Rare. If overcooked a bit, as they typically do—- it’s fine.

Sadly rare doesn’t exist in TV. So we don’t order any beef at restaurants

Good to hear. Quite the uphill battle for any new food service owner to establish CONSISTENCY.... seems impossible to hire employees who just stay in one place for years and produce the consistency it takes for a place to be successful ! This might bring a smile... when we were a young couple we used to frequent a steakhouse where the seasoned waitresses referred to the woman who had only worked there 15 years as "the new girl". Our favorite waitress had been there 31 years !
