Coming to this brain trust again ... apple iphone charger
 

I have an Apple 12 mini, and want to buy a portable charger. I am looking for something as compact as possible. Not sure if that means sub-optimizing on the solution. Any advice, or recommendations?

I have had bad luck with the Amazon off label brands. One ruined my iphone charging circuitry. It was also “MFI” certified. If you sort the reviews by most recent for this charger, you will see it is not very good. Amazon does not verify "MFI certified" and it is well known many cables and chargers there are mislabled.

My first choice is to purchase an Apple charger. $19 delivered from Apple:

The Anker charger is $11:99 on Amazon. Although Amazon does not list it as compatible with the mini 12, it is compatible. The Anker website shows this charger as compatible with the mini 12. Anker is a well known brand

It’s impossible to generalize too much about iPhone accessories. As suggested, Apple and Anker are brands with good reputations for iPhone accessories. You might look at what these brands have to offer that fits your needs and then look over their Amazon product reviews. If you go with a lesser known brand for iPhone accessories, you are taking a chance especially with product longevity. Outside of the Apple brand, look for MFi certification of the accessory. If it were me, I would not look for the least expensive accessory.

not sure where you are charging from, but we converted the outlets in our house from which we commonly charge our apple phones to outlets with USB ports, so we just need cables. We carry the original apple chargers with us in case we need to charge in a public place. Please search on the latest FBI bulletin on "Juice Jacking"
