Courtyard Villa Water Shut Off

Hi, I am in Bonnie Brook ( Clifton Coutyard Villa ) just south of 466 and the house was built in 2003. I don't see main water shut off in the garage as someone suggested( Only one I see goes into the water heater ). Where can I turn off the water main for the whole house? There are two covers outside written with IRRIGATION and PORTABLE but I only see some wiring with no shut off valve.

Cheers!

It sounds like one is irrigation water piping and the other is potable water piping. Are you sure there is no valve on the potable water pipe? It could just be an inline valve with a raised metal bar for use with a tee-shaped valve tool.

Also, is there a separate meter box near the street? There should be a valve in that box.

As you mentioned these are typically behind a plastic panel in the garage, however, I have seen these cleverly hidden by shelving, boxes, etc. Also, if a water filter or softener was installed the cutoff valve may have been moved to where this equipment is located.

My courtyard villa north of 466 has a key shutoff at the meter (you need a "street key" to close it) and a gate valve closer to the house. You may have to dig around to find the valve box, which is usually green with a green cover approximately six inches in diameter.

What is a "street key"? Is that a big chunk of metal with a handle plumbers use to close the whole house water system ( I saw once but I thought he did that with the irrigation box but maybe there is another box hidden under the gravel next to irrigation box)?

Cheers!
