My wife has a 2012 family tree maker program on her HP laptop. It needs to be updated to the new family tree maker program.
Anyone have any experience with this and how to do this and not loose her research.
Also thinking about buying her a new computer but i think the new family tree maker should be first.

You need to contact the manufacturer of the program. Almost all of the program that I have upgraded saved all previous data and imported that into the new version with no problems. I doubt anyone here can help without knowing the name of the software at a minimum.
