Tip of the day for drivers in The Villages

Here is your tip of the day;
Do NOT trust a turn signal on a golf cart! If you are at stop sign, at an intersection, or maybe pulling out of a Rec center or driveway and a golf cart is approaching and has its turn signal on do NOT pull out in front of it until you are certain, you are sure, you 100% know they are turning! Villagers and visitors forget they have their turn signal on!!! Often! A lot!!! And if you pull out in front of a golf cart that has its turn signal on but is not turning something bad is going to happen!! Make sure they are turning before you pull out! Your insurance company and the people in the golf cart will thank you!! You are welcome…now carry on!!

Flair for the obvious award.

I've learned whether it was golf cart or car. Don't trust the turn signals or the fact they won't stop at a stop sign and turn!

I swear most of those turn signals where on since last week.

I learned that on my first golf cart ride.

Drivers training day 2 class. “ Never trust any vehicles turn signals, just because it’s blinking doesn’t mean a true turn” Mr Ahern, geometry, and Drivers Training Instructor.

My driver’s Ed teacher was our football coach, but he taught the same thing.

Same goes for car drivers. Some $&@t had their left turn signal on in the right lane in a roundabout. I was in the inside lane wanting to continue on Morse (2nd exit which is legal) while the clown in the right lane wanted to take the 3rd exit and almost hit me. They probably thought that since they had their turn signal on it was ok to disobey the law and almost hit somebody. Only in the villages!

Another example of why you should never drive alongside any vehicle in a roundabout.

Very true but this happens more often in golf carts because many of them do not have self cancelling turn signals. That feature was a must when we purchased our cart.

What about a hand signal, can we trust that?
