Fairway Woods or Hybrids
What are everyone’s preference and why? I’ve been using hybrids for 5 or 6 years but miss a 3 wood occasionally. What are your thoughts?

Driver, 3 fairway wood & 5 fairway wood (that I rarely use), 4 & 5 hybrids, 6-wedges irons...
Why? I like a 3 wood, and I was having trouble hitting my longer irons... The hybrids are much easier to hit than my 4-5 irons... |
Nothing quite like the sound and feel of persimmon wood when it meets the ball.

Only have one hybrid, and rarely use it. My dad taught me how to play with irons, I still play old school irons.

The right gapping for me is to carry a 3 wood, a 3 hybrid and then a 4-9 iron (obviously plus wedges and driver). The 3 Hybrid is a 19 degree (there are some 22's out there), so it fits nicely between what I can do with a 3 wood, and what I can do with a 4 iron. Now, if I could figure out how to hit them all straight, I'd be way too busy counting my money to be on this forum.

I use a driver, 3 wood, and hybrids for everything else.

When shopping for a friend recently, I was surprised that most new sets of clubs do not have the old irons, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. They only have a 7, 8, 9, wedge, and 3 or 4 hybrid clubs.

Nothing like the feel of a solid hit with a hybrid.

Never could hit with a 3 or 5 wood. Carry a driver and 1 thru 9 hybrid-irons.

Executive courses vs. Championship courses??............two different answers.
Depending on handicap.............different answers. |
Bought a set of the Cleveland Launcher HB when we moved down here 3 years ago, love them

It was attributed to Lee Trevino, who had been previously struck by lightning... :D |
