Should be free from your car insurance if small repair

My understanding is that all car insurance in FL must cover it. As far as places to go, Big Johns Custome gets good reviews.

We had a very good experience with Safelight. Our cameras had to be recalibrated and they took care of all of that, no charge. Without insurance it would have been a total of $1200.

In my understanding, FL law requires FL car insurance to include windshield coverage, HOWEVER it will be YOUR insurance that will be covering the cost to repair/replace the windshield. With this understanding, I would contact my insurance company to see who they recommend, and or have worked with. I would also ask about the possibility of a rate increase due to the insurance claim.

Safelite Leesburg had a new shop, did good work replacing and repairing a chip for us.

Very good advise. Free is sometimes anything but.

Some companies do not increase your rates for a comprehensive coverage claim. We are with Travelers and they do not raise rates for these types of claims. Ask your agent.

In most cases the insurance company will send the insured to a shop and the shop will get paid by the insurance company.

As I understand it, insurance "agents" are merely salespeople. They sell policies and can shop around for different insurance companies. But, they do not participate in setting rates or in determining whether a policyholder's premium will increase, decrease, or be cancelled based on a claim. I think that some agents like to pretend that they know more than they do to impress their customers. But, all decisions about premium rates are made at the insurance company headquarters. The agent has nothing to do with it and is not consulted or kept in the loop. When I switched from Allstate to State Farm because of a 32 percent increase, my Allstate agent for 27 years said that there was nothing he could do and advised me to make the switch. At least he was honest.

Amazing how many people answer the question they think the OP should of ask rather than the question ::Lol::

Like someone mention, be wary of any claim.
Sometimes one claim is enough to raise your premiums.
(What's the sense of being insured?)

Also, my son had two cracked windshields in one month on his 6 month old
Toyota truck in Florida and was told his insurance WILL NOT cover a third time.

the frame around it may be too tight coming from the factory.

Call your insurance company and start the claim they will direct you on who is on their approved list. In FL it cost you $0.00 to fix.
