White Wire Shelving

We just moved in to The Villages a month ago. I am looking to add some more of the 12" deep white wire shelving that the builder installed in our closets and the pantry. I want the exact same type which is made by Rubbermaid, the logo is on the mounting brackets. Is anyone getting rid of some their wire shelving that I may have?

Welcome to TOTV. If you drive around on the night before garbage day you might find some along the curb. Lowes and Home Depot have it too.

The last time I checked, I could not find the exact same type of shelving from any source.

Did you try ACE, specifically the one on Wedgewood (near 466) they tend to have a lot of villages specific items, also look into amazon, no idea of shipping 12 foot sections.

I did check Amazon, Lowes, Home Depot, and the Rubbermaid website, but not ACE.

My house is 10 years old. Rubbermaid has changed the design of the fittings and brackets since then. Also the new house contractors buy so much in bulk it might be contractors grade stuff.

Check with me Late Monday. We are having new closets installed, we haven’t decided if we are going to use the old ones in the garage

Get rid of all your white shelving and get your closets professionally redone with shelving/hanging areas from floor to ceiling. DM me and I will give you the company we used to get it done (we used them because all of our neighbors used them).

Lowe's and Home Depot carry the Closet Maid brand of wire shelving. It is close, but not the same as Rubbermade. If you are looking to stay with what came in your home (Rubbermade), call Wayne Lovoy at Custom Closets, 352-702-5288. His company does installs on new construction, but he will sell you whatever you need for your job. Provide him with your sizes, and they will cut to length, deliver to your home, and provide all necessary hardware. The best news is his pricing is significantly less than the big box stores. He will charge you based on the lineal feet of shelving ordered. Good luck.

We replaced ours with 16", much more useful.

DIY Shelving

If you're going to install yourself just make sure you have good bolt cutters and good wall anchors. It's actually really easy to do, but "measure twice, cut once."

Great info thank you very much.

Go to Ace

I just got some of the shelves from a friend and Ace carries the correct brand of HW and shelves

Lol OP is looking for free shelving I don't think spending thousands to have professional closet remodel is in the cards

retiredguy123 07-02-2023 07:51 AM

Get rid of everything that you haven't used in the past 12 months, and you won't need any additional shelving.
