I know that the Ipad doesn't have a camera, but does anyone know if you can use skype to chat and watch video from another skyper if they have a camera?

Do not know the answer to your question but I would think you may be able to see the other person but not sure. I am waiting to buy the next gen Ipad which is rumored to be released Feb 2011 to April 2011, this Ipad may have a front and rear camera.

Have you checked out Apple.com? There is even a forum for the iPad.

My IPhone 4 has a camera but Apple won't let me video call over Skype I guess they want to restrict everything to face time. If the IPad has no camera Skype won't do video. I can stll make and receive voice calls from others on Skype just no picture.

There is an iphone app for skype which lets you use it (and see people).

PS...says you can use it for the ipod touch, too.

There is a free Skype app for the iPad
 

Just search for Skype in the iPad app store. You should be able to receive video OK if the other party has a webcam connected of course.
If you would like to test it out, you can call me at 941-587-2366 and we can see how it works ipad to ipad and to laptop video.
