Golf shoes Question
Are Golf shoes required on the golf courses or will sneakers suffice?
|
I do NOT know the regulations, however I have found sneakers to be slippery under some conditions, so I wear cleated golf shoes when golfing.
|
Sneakers are allowed.
|
Sneakers are ok.
|
Golf shoes look better - may not help you though.
|
Maybe if I switched from Sneakers to Golf Shoes I would improve my score

Not recommended, but you can play in your bare feet if you want. Sam Snead did it in his early years to improve his weight shift and balance.
|
Golf shoes come with cleats and without. If I am walking I wear cleats, using a cart I use without. If you are new stick with tennis shoes. It’s about comfort first, golf shoes will not improve your game early on.
I have golf shoes that range from $100 to $350. No matter which I use game remains consistent. I have even played in berkies ..because my shoes were in the other cart. |

Here's the dress code that includes acceptable footwear. Golf shoes and athletic shoes are required. Sandals that have a heel strap are also allowed. Flip flops are not permitted. |
Even flip flops are used on a golf course, I've seen it.

golf shoes
I think they stopped having much value when steel cleats went out not much difference to athletic shoes short of STEEP hills. Restriction wise only steel spikes are restricted in most courses not sure about here

There is only a requirement that you NOT wear cirtain shoes that could damage the greens. Other than that wear whateever you want. Golf shoes provide an amount of stability for you to swing your clubs and traverse some of the hazards on a gold course.
