It was exactly 2 months since he took over those towns. Maybe the 2 months is symbolic.

I was watching the news this morning when it was pointed out that this is the first time a mid air explosion and destruction of a plane in mid air has ever been photographed; usually a plane crashes and people have to go looking for it. It appears to have been a planned assassination to frighten anyone else that wants to remove Putin from power.

It lead to his downfall. :plane:

His mistake was going to Belarus.

Sadly this is the way an Authoritarian Dictatorship works. No surprise.

Putin was in the KGB, they weren't choir boys and the organization was not a prayer group! Putin is a megalomaniac and you don't cross people like that. Stalin was the same, you don't make yourself appear as a threat to their power because you will disappear. I'm surprised it took so long.
