Hey everyone!

Looking to head down to the Villages in a few years and wanted to say hi! Look forward to getting everyone one's input or help when I do.

Most everyone uses LED light bulbs.

We'll keep the lights on.

Welcome!

Same spot as you - not there yet, but hope to be in a few years! See you then!

Has there been a Jim Cantore sighting? Be safe down there.

Suggestion: check YouTube for The Villages. View as much as you can. Take with a grain of salt but you will get the “flavor” of the community. Eventually come down for a lifestyle visit. If you are decent health and are a “joiner” you will love the place.

FedCop? Hmmmm. To me, cops work holidays, odd shifts, split days off and endure Mando OT. Except for a USSS presidential detail crew, I don't know many who do this. Just playing and busting your b...s. Look on FB for the First Responders group.

A few years?? So much can happen in that time. The bubble may well be down to Disney by then

You will love it here. We have been here 18 years and have no regrets moving here. Retirement can be boring if you live somewhere where there is not much to do. PS: The Villages did not get anything from the current hurricane---we got only 1/2 inch rain with no wind. You can get information from your neighbors on where to go for new license, plates, doctors, etc. We welcome you when you get here. Good Luck!

Have been here for 12 years. Even when we do not get hit directly by a hurricane, we have to pay for it through increased insurance. The rebuilding efforts on homes damaged by the current hurricane will likely drive up the price of lumber and plywood. Personally, I would NOT move to Fl. and the Villages now - the homes are too expensive and the summers are too HOT. If you can afford 2 homes and live up north during the summers, then The Villages might be attractive because there is a lot to DO. But, if it was going to be a ONE-home deal, then I would look into Tn., and the Carolinas. For example, Crossville TN. has inexpensive homes and lifestyle. And there are pretty many things to do.

Hey sorry for the late reply. Which group on FB is the group you are referring to?
