Course Condition @ Cane Garden 8/28

The Hibiscus to Allamanda course was in decent shape, tees are still recovering from aeration, fairways have good turf to hit from, roughs are good except on hills. Bunkers good with ample sand. Greens have recovered but are still a little hairy and slower than usual.

Have found the name of this CC intriguing. Not certain of the derivation of its name, but my only previous exposure to same was via a reference to a bay in the British Virgin Islands. Have never visited *any* Virgin Island, but *have* googled the name, curious about some song lyrics. :-)

You're welcome.

(Guess it's "Callwood" rather than "Calderwood" or "Caldwood" rum that gets distilled on Tortola.)

Thanks for the info. Last week we played Bonifay. Off of the greens there were more weeds than real grass.

Well, dang. Didn't mean for it to be so timely. :-(

Rough!

Have two large groups of players who play championship courses! And after playing both Cane Garden and Havanna recently, all agree rough is ridiculous. We are not PGA players, and do not have spotters to locate balls in deep rough! This issue increases pace of play which is not desirable not to speak of lost balls.
Yea, I can expect the "great players" who will state stay out of the rough!! Hurray, it is great to be you, but for the rest of us it is an issue!
