Looking to get golf cart body painted??

Looking to get a Yamaha Drive golf cart body painted. Prefer not to far from Villages. Ive looked around but want someone that has delt specifically with flexible plastic bodies. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.

I have done this years ago, and there was a special additive for the standard auto paint to make it flexible. I have also painted fiberglass based cars which typically do NOT require the additive. While the additive is specifically for bumpers as these are very flexible the golf cart bodies should not require this. My point is you should be able to paint with regular automotive paint, especially if this becomes a DIY project.
I would offer to paint it for you, but I no longer have the equipment I had before moving here. I will be glad to discuss this with you over the phone and offer tips, etc., for a DIY project, send me a PM with you phone number and we can discuss.

PS I have painted 10 cars, and I still have on in the garage to show off.

I spent the last 35 years in the auto industry. I no longer have the equipment nor the correct environment to do a proper paint job. The Yamaha plastic bodies are fairly thin and without adding flex agent or using improper paint there is a very good chance the paint would crack once it cured. Thats why I want to find a place that has delt with painting carts. Some of the newer paint systems have designed a certain amount of flex into the paint but not willing to take the chance of paying to get a paint job only to have it crumble.

Try contacting Bill Pasternak at 352-5514549.
Also, Walt Bohr at 352-3221900
I have been out of the business for a few years but at the time these were the two I referred to.

They do sell the full-body decal that you can customize or pick from 100s of different themes. My neighbor did his in the Old Glory Stars and Stripes. It looks fantastic.

You can't even tell it's a decal it looks like a custom paint job.

Wrap it.

Yes Ive seen some really sharp wraps. Might be the way I go if I can find a decent painter.

Anyone doing wraps in the area?

I bought the Yamaha cart I currently have used.
Then found out afterwards that it had a special paint job.
I found a dated notation that the paint
was Glacier white pearlescent.
Looks great in the sunlight
I believe the paint job is approximately 6-7 years old,
but it still is beautiful and looks like new.
Sorry, but I don’t know who painted it.
I will say this though….I agree with Villagetinker that regular automotive paint, with proper prep and application would be just fine.

Ask on this site. I have seen something in the past mentioned.
