Brick patios

Driving around Tv I have seen beautiful brick patios either in front or back of the house ..some small some large. Does it vary what villages allow them? I have seen them in older villages and the new ones..Thanks

Doesn't matter what village..ARC has to approve the design before its built

Yes, get ARC approval, it is free to apply and typically get results in 2 weeks, if you include your email on the form you will get an email with the results.

On a side note be careful with thin pavers (or bricks) as these tend to crack, also check on the required maintenance, many pavers require yearly pressure washing and possible resealing. We went with a high-quality Xylene based concrete stain (paint?) that has been on for over 8 years with just an occasional pressure washing for maintenance.

Do you know of anyone who will remove the thin pavers and redo the driveway with cement?

How were the pavers installed? if the driveway was trimmed at the street and at the garage your would need to have these pavers removed and the area cleaned (maybe sand blasted?), a suitable bonding agent applied, and the new concrete applied. Now, I can guarantee the new concrete and the old concrete will not match in color. Also, the very thin area will be subject to cracking away from the original pad. Further, the final finish (texture) of the new concrete will not match the original slab, so if you decide to paint (stain) the driveway, the two patched areas will be clearly visible. IMHO, you may be better off having the entire driveway removed and a new driveway poured. I believe this is what our neighbor did several years ago.
