Birdcage Composite Roof

Looking for contractors who put composite roofs on birdcages. Wanting to sit out in a covered birdcage during the rain or a shady spot during the day. Thank you for any recommendations.

Be careful, birdcage framing wind mitigation is designed for an open roof. Putting a composite roof on an existing birdcage, not designed for that application, will almost certainly void any warranty on the structure. Consider a motorized awning that is attached to the home rather than the birdcage framing.

In agree with previous comment, another option would be a sail, basically some fabric that attaches inside the birdcage to provide shade and if you get a waterproof type some protection from the rain. These can also be removed during high wind or hurricane conditions.

Also, not sure but you will probably need ARC approval for this and may need a building permit for the modification.

When we were having ours built, I asked for this and was told they couldn't do it. He said it would never pass inspection . If you get a contractor to agree to do it, be very careful with that company and make sure they are on the up and up.
