"Impossible" car accident
1 Attachment(s)
Happened yesterday. West bound Pinellas, just coming off the Morse traffic circle. Can anyone give me a serious theory on you roll a car just before scanning your gate card? Joke answers not requested.

Came off roundabout at 50mph?

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a car heading north on Morse Blvd; at least I think that was direction the car was going. When I saw it, the car was upside down just like the car in the photo in the OP. This was located several yards north of 466 just outside of an entrance to the first village on the west side. I'm still scratching my head as to how anyone could gain enough speed to roll their car.

Fell
Fell off an automobile carrier?

Medical condition? Hit gas instead of brake? Throttle by wire malfunction?

Tire hit the center of the road curb on driver's side? Seems like it would be further away from that center curb though towards the gate and not away from it. More to the left when viewing the picture unless there is a lot of weight on the passenger side and not so much on the driver's. |
No idea. But give me a brake. I mean break.
That certainly took some speed in order to flip. Even hitting the curb at high speed-doubtful to flip a large car as that. As for the driver, can only assume a medical condition was the cause, hope they were belted. I mean seat, not booze. I’m sure we’ll read it in The Sun…. Sure. |

The other news source will probably have something. |

If that is the Sanibel gate I went past there this morning and saw where a street light had been run over. It would be just out of the picture to the right. The lamp pole was broken off but the lower three feet of the pole was bent but still upright. I assume the driver hit that light pole and the car rode up on the lower section and turned over because it did not break off. I would assume the driver was going at a fairly high rate of speed.

Hope this works. Car hits a gate that was just opened and flips. |
