Anyone done their own golf cart front end alignment?
After the renter's use, the front end needs an adjustment.
The lock nut is easily accessible without a lift, so just curious. Will be looking on the internet for specs and a youtube video Thanks in advance Sportsguy |
I did this on a 1990's Yamaha cart, but not any of the newer carts. Our needed an alignment after hitting curb, and the metal parts were bent and needed to be replaced, I would recommend Todd Casey for this work. If you get this wrong, you are probably going to wear the front tires out quickly.

You recommend who??? He will fix you cart but he will also empty you bank account. He wanted almost $400 to replace my bushings which I then bought for $25 & did it myself. He replaced the forward/reverse switch for $350 & had I known, I could have bought the switch for $60 on Amazon. Quite a markup for a quick and easy fix. |
I'm guessing a sunny disposition had nothing to do with it.

I did mine on my 2018 Yamaha. I followed the instructions on You Tube and it is pretty easy if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. As mentioned above, there is an arm from the steering link to the wheel (one each wheel) that is designed to bend if you hit a curb. It less than $20 and easily replaced if that is needed.

Alignment is easy on a yamaha, 5 minutes with the right tools and knowledge. Have seen many done wrong and as stated it will wear the tires out. Being off by a 1/4 of an inch doesnt seem like much but it will take out 5000 miles out of the tires. So pick the right shop.

oh, and I watched that video...I guess it will work but there are some errors and definitely
no golf car repair shop would EVER align a golf car like that....hes even wrong with the size of the wrench used to make the adjustment. Typical youtube...everyones an expert |
