Hurricane Shutters
 

Has anyone installed hurricane shutters on their lanai? I am looking for ideas to help with the sun beating in and eliminating hauling the outdoor furniture inside while we are up north. Thought about getting exterior roller shades which would help with sun but not protect the furniture during a storm while away. I am not interested in the glass enclosures. I appreciate suggestion and which company to use. Many Thanks! :)

I have the same question.
I am thinking of putting a hurricane shutter over the sliders, to prevent furniture from going through the glass, and roller shades around the lanai. I figure I would deal with the damage to the roller and probably the birdcage, but the house would stay dry. Would probably also need hurricane shutters over all windows in the birdcage.
