AED’S in the Villages
 

For all the Money that we pay out to the Villages why are we the ones to Pay for the AED’S?
It seems like they don’t really care about the residents, their only concern is Building and Selling Homes.

Who do you mean by "The Villages"?

Of course their concern is about building and selling homes, the installation of AEDs has always been a local village effort, it took around 7 or 8 years for our village to get enough support for our AEDs, and I was glad to commit the $100 for this service, it comes to about $10 tot $15 per year for the expected life of the AEDs.

While I'm sure this post was just to stir the pot or show personal short sightedness, I would like to know where the poster lived before where the builder of the development provided that kind of service. Or why you don't think you don't have any personal responsibility toward your family and neighbors and that someone else should do it for you.

Yes, we are a community that works well when we all work together. Lend a hand as an instructor, throw a few bucks into a collection bucket, or pick up trash when you walk your dog. It’s all of us working together that makes us a happy and healthy community.

That question is probably best asked of your CDD Supervisors. Perhaps the funding could come from your Maintenance budget?

Shouldn’t they also provide you with free medical care? You want big daddy to take care of you why stop at AED’s?

I believe that the Villages does have AEDs in many of their facilities.

You bought a house from the Villages, not a room in a senior care center where everything is provided for you. That is the next step.

Snowbird season is on us. You will have most of your Village residing here soon, if they aren’t here already. What an opportunity to meet everyone and get a drive going. We had ours last fall till spring and just had the last of them installed here. The mounting posts even have solar chargers for the units.

You could do a neighborhood garage sale, volunteer to collect at the postal center, have a donation dinner at the recreational center etc. Good Luck

I know I've seen them everywhere, in most, if not all of the rec centers, squares, etc...

My village has them disbursed throughout the neighborhood. They were paid for and maintained by the residents and staffed by volunteers in the neighborhood.

I'm trained to use them and when I'm finally a Frog, I'm sign up to be one of the volunteers...

Your read my thoughts right out of my own mind. Do you think some of these posts are actually jokes, on "us", who sit down with our morning cup of coffee and see what's being said around the villages ? Is the joke on us ? Do you think we will ever get an answer of where the poster lived where that is provided in the HOA fee, or other type of fee ?

Yes, that's exactly what I think. I wish people would just ignore these types of posts completely. This used to be a very informative site but anymore it's just filled with silly posts started to stir things up.
