Hyper Inflation at McDonald’s

Less than 3 weeks ago, I bought a large coke for $1.59. Today, it was $2.69 for a large and a small was $1.89.

That is about a 70% increase in less than 3 weeks.

Is there a sugar shortage or was there an increase in the minimum wage?

Hopefully other restaurants don’t follow along.

All prices are up you may be able to eat at Golden Corral for what they charge now. Not as bad as California. I guessing Big Mac 20 bucks out there drink 5 bucks when mandatory minimum wage kicks in.

New ownership of the local stores. With new owners the prices jumped. Maybe they overpaid, maybe they figured out how to profit selling less food

I sure they overpaid.

Making up for their subsidized lower priced food. Still a better price than bottled water at a concert/sports event ( $6.00 +/-).

We have been trained to accept the INFLATION and hence they sock it to us!

Not to worry most of us have our SS pay increase coming in January to offset the "cost of the increases".:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

It’s just plain price gouging. Unfortunately most people just won’t say No and walk out.

According to my app, a large coke is $2.29, not $2.69. A small is $1.79, not $1.89.

That's the one on 441 across the street from Walmart.

Sometimes they have specials, where you can get any size beverage for the price of a small. I usually get a medium Frozen Coke when they have the frozen drink specials.

They also discount your drink if you bundle it into a combo with sandwich and fries.

But their large soda has been over $2.00 for awhile now, not just in the last 3 weeks.

Your prices are correct for the one on 441.

However, check out the prices at Magnolia; Colony; and Brownwood. Those are $1.89 for a small; $2.29 for a medium; and $2.69 for a large. And the large was $1.59 three weeks ago.

You are 100% correct. We stoppped going. Perhaps the 7-11 at Magnolia influenced it.

“ The Golden Arches brought in a total of $6.69 billion in revenue for the three-month period ended Sept. 30 — beating expectations of $6.58 billion, according to Refinitiv analysts.” NY Post

Hopefully the ounces you pay for you got in case people don’t notice prices go up 20 30,40% and the manufacturers are also downsizing the amount of the product you get . Isn’t that price gouging l

Just go to Burger King….or any of a number of cheap alternative fast food lunch places. It’s not like we are talking epicurean feasts here. It’s a burger and fries and colas!!
