2016/17 Yamaha turn signals

I am trying to help a fellow villager with a defective turn signal module. The module is a Yamaha part, Old style turn signal model: made by Grand General Y00003 / GYA001

Real Yamaha part# GCA JW112-41-01

A search on this number (11/7/23) seems to indicate this is no longer available, out of stock, or on backorder.

Also, I have not been able to locate a wiring diagram for this device, even when talking directly to Yamaha. I have located 2 possible alternatives, one from Signal Dynamics and the other from RHOX, but in either case I would need to splice the new module into the existing wiring. This would save me a 2 couple of hours tracing wires, or more time installing a new wiring harness.

So if anyone has actually found a source for these modules or a wiring diagram for the Yamaha turn signals I would be really interested. I have 5 or 6 hours of internet searching with no results so far.

On a side note Yamaha said the wiring diagram was in the service manual, which I happened to own (400 pages) and it does NOT include any accessory wiring and the Yamaha part number indicates this is an accessory.

Just the module haas been on back order for more than 6 months.
If you buy the entire turn signal switch assembly it will come with a new module. The last thing you want to do is cut into a fcatory harness and add aftermarket products like you listed.

I understand everyone is a golf car mechanic no matter what profession they are, Im more concerned about the aftermarket product listed that was going to be used, not of the greatest quality.

The first choice would be the Yamaha part, if it was available in a reasonable time, both me and my friend have been quoted 2 months to 6 months lead-time.
The replacements, Signal Dynamis and RHOX, have been around for years, and supply parts for multiple vehicles, so I expect these are quality parts.

I change out the RHOX products quite a bit. But if your just looking to get it to work and cant wait, then thats your option.

VT is an electrical engineer if I'm remembering correctly which should qualify him to work on a cart's electrical system. He's also volunteered so much to successfully fix other people's electrical issues I wouldn't hesitate to run a problem by him.

Im not doubting his education on electrical issues. Im just trying to give some Insite to what is trying to be accomplished. Ive seen many trade types try to fix golf cars and they just over think the repair. Great that something can be made to work, but the last thing you would want it to put in something that is not going to last. This industry is full of aftermarket parts that do not work well. Preventing a future failure in a short period of time is my only concern, so someones ability to find a solution.

I have 2006 Yamaha G-Max 48 Volt Golf cart with fuel injection. I cannot find fuel filter. Does it have a fuel filter?

Here is a follow-up, I just added an auxiliary headlight on a 2023 Yamaha golf cart, and while I was working in the dash I noticed it had the module I am looking for.... SO this begs the question as to why these are NOT available for repairs?

turn signals

I had a module failure with a RHOX turn signal harness and they could not supply one for me without buying another complete harness. It is all Chinese crap in my opinion. Find a harness that uses a simple flasher and make life easier for your self.
