IRMAA, anyone successfully appeal their IRMAA increase

IRMAA:

Anyone successfully appeal their IRMAA amount for exhausting their IRA income source?

I am going to appeal my mom's IRMAA calc due to her IRA being exhausted,
and therefore her income will drop from SS + IRA income of $100K+ per year for the last two years to just SS. She is 97, and her IRA did last until I used it up in the last 3 years to pay for dementia care.

Just curious. . .

Thanks in advance. .

I've had 2 IRMAA appeals. You may have a tough time until you can show an actual tax return, verifying the lower income.

If I'm not mistake, you also need a qualifying event. Can't hurt to try, it's free.

yeah, like its not listed as a qualifying event. Its just a huge drop in income now forever. . . .

I did it successfully using the online forms when I retired and no longer received a paycheck.

Hopefully before and after bank statements will be enough verification for loss of income.
