PopCorn Ceiling removal Question Please
 

Q1: Has anyone used and can recommend a contractor to remove popcorn ceiling via the very basic scaper method. As opposed to more complex methods? Q2: Also please advise estimated cost as the home in question in about 1,600 Sq feet.
I have read the various post on this topic but not able to answer Q#1 above.
I was able to scrap the ceiling in one room and it left a nice texture and actually only took about an hour for the room, any minor imperfections are not noticable due to the flat paint over the ceiling. I am just not in a position to do the rest of the home.

The process is wet or dry scraping. Spray gun and knock down flat texture. Paint all areas. Performance drywall did my house, got 2 estimates, both very close to $4000 each. But... the one estimate didn't include the closets. Very happy I did it before moving in. They are careful to encapsulate the rooms but that alone takes an entire day.
