Passport wait times drop to shortest since March 2020: Here's how long processing could take

If you need a new passport, you’re in luck. U.S. passport processing times dropped again this week to their shortest since before the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Department said.

Travelers who apply on or after Monday can expect to wait between six and eight weeks for routine service, down from seven to 10 weeks. Expedited processing will take between two and three weeks, dropping from between three and five weeks (the service also comes with a $60 fee). Those estimates do not include mailing times.
