Three poles on walking paths

We took a drive down through Dabney over by the new enclave and noticed by the Dabney rec center that on the walking path there are three poles instead of just two. Any idea why there are three?

Makes it more challenging for golf carts to get in.

Trying to keep carts and bikes out of the walking paths. A sign “walking path only” would be better.

Was one of them, my wife? She is a Pole and wanders away frequently......

Hmmm, one pole means no cars but golf carts are allowed. Two poles means no cars or golf carts. Three poles is new to me.

On their way to change a light bulb ?

Yeah I'm in Lake Denham and noticed this. I'm guessing, as mentioned, they realize it's less confusing since golf carts have made their way onto paths with 2 poles. I almost made that mistake when I was on a lifestyle visit.

I had another alternate theory. Unfortunately it has been pretty much proven wrong. But the path along Megisson by Lake Denham and Dabney is just as wide as the multi-modal up at Sawgrass. I heard the reason we have to go on Megisson is that Lake County (or maybe it was Leesburg) doesn't allow golf carts on "sidewalks". Therefore they couldn't make these multi-modal. My hope was that law would change for the Villages and then they could remove the 2 outside poles and have one in the center. Again many people pointed out my flawed thinking and it won't happen. But it was a nice idea. :D

Multi-modal paths aren't sidewalks. They're multi-modal paths. There are plenty on the Lake County side of The Villages, and they are open to pedestrians, bicycles, golf carts, electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and roller (or inline) skaters.

I actually know the answer because there were three and four poles in several spots. This means that these paths are not yet open. The three poles will be reduced to one and the four polls will be to two. in case of Dabney, these will be walking paths.

Bikes are allowed, it is just a wider approach, i.e. three poles.

Having a Polish husband, my first thought upon seeing the title to this post was that it was the beginning of a joke.

My golf partner's hairdresser believes 3 poles signifies no E-bikes allowed.

It's so you can still find the path after a heavy snowfall

Newest Theme

The country club that is going in will have a new theme, just like McGrady ‘s.

The antithesis for “Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to KIELBASA’S”.

That is just silly. There hasn't been a heavy snowfall in weeks.
