Travel to Boston for Red Sox game in Sept.

I plan on attending BB game in Sept. The hotels seem very expensive in Boston 300-400$ per night. Also parking for the game seems to be a problem. Are there shuttles to the game? I would be ok staying 10-20- miles from Fenway.
Any other things to do or see in Boston.

For less expensive hotels check the surrounding towns on the T route (commuter trains). As far as things to do plenty probably more than you have time for.

if your staying only a few days look for discounts now I’m sure you’ll find them , Boston is a great city to walk around so even if it’s a little more I would try to stay in or as close+as you can, but if that doesn’t work for you do find a place where you can use the t , September is a great month in Boston , the weather is usually good , the energy of the city picks up with all the new students coming to start semester , you can walk the freedom trail ,have dinner in Chinatown , pizza and pastry andin the North End ,, clam chowder the Union Osyter house or the warren Tavern if you are going to see the Bunker Hill Monument , the city is so walkable and you can also take the t anywhere it’s slow sometimes but user friendly , so do yourself a favor and experience this wonderful city up close and personalFYI when you get to Fenway Park no matter where your seats are please try to enter the field from behind the home plate entrance so the whole stadium opens up in front of you,
whether a day game with the bright green grass or especially at night , you’ll never forget that first glimpse of the field

And in September lately they're normally looking up at the rest of the league, so you can get good seats. :1rotfl:

I think the Giants would be the closest, as they won 3 World Series championships in 5 years (2010, 2012, 2014), and they participated in the 2002 WS.

That went without saying.

If you found a room for $300-$400, you're doing well.

Look at staying in Waltham, if you don't mind being 10-15 miles outside the city. Plenty of hotels and reasonably easy access, if you have a car. Boston's public transportation system is awful. You'll need a car, unless you're staying downtown ... in which case, $400-$500/night is the usual going rate.

Somewhere around 80% of Red Sox tickets are committed to Season Tickets, so you're looking at buying them on the secondary market and they're pricey, depending who's in town and how the season is going. Don't expect to just show up at the ticket office and get a ticket.

If you do end up on public transportation, you want to get to "Kenmore Square/Station" (not "Fenway").

The Cssino could be a good option. Their room rates aren't bad, they're close to the city and they have plenty of options for entertainment and transportation.
