What happened to pelican water company?
Just bought a villa with a great water system. When I call the number nobody answered. I need to find somebody to service the system and change filters. Any recommendations?

I think these are standard size water filters, I have seen these at Lowes, I also believe they have the wrench you may need to open the tanks to replace the filter elements. A word of caution, there is a bypass valve (normally closed), and the supply and return valves (normally open). You need to close the supply and return valves, and open the bypass valve, and then press the RED button to release the pressure in each of the filter canisters. Then you should be able to open the canister and replace the filter.
You may need to run the system without the filters (on bypass) the first time until you get the correct filters, and i would label the unit with each filter type for future reference. If you cannot do the above, there are several local handymen that should be able to help. Hope this helps. |
Pelican was bought out by Pentair which is a large enough company to be listed on NYSE

The "chemical" in the tank is plastic resin. Over time (decades) it can lose its effectiveness. It is replaceable.
You are being lied to. |

Lets be realistic, our softeners are not failing, we are oversold capacity, and our households usually have two or less residents. It will outlast you. |
We have a sealed resin twin cylinder, salt cleaning water softener that is 20+ years old.
No maintenance needed apart from very occasional general cleanup. Looks after a four bed, three bathroom two people house with never a problem. I was always amazed at the size of water softener systems in TV houses. As commented in previous post, way bigger than really needed for sizes of most properties. |
The information I got from Pentair website indicates. https://www.homedepot.com/p/PENTAIR-...40-P/325387794 As the filter for ‘big blue’ housings. I think this’ll work.
