Garage door openers
 

Mvp is no longer the preferred garage opener. We see that Linear is being used here down south in the Villages. Can anyone comment on this brand and quietness of unit? OR what brand and company did you use for a new install? Thank you!

As I understand it, MVP was purchased by Linear, so they are somewhat the same company. The quietness of a garage door is mostly dependent on the type of motor drive mechanism. In the past, MVP doors installed by the builder were chain driven doors. If you want a quiet door, buy a Chamberlain belt drive door.

The Linear's TV is installing are super quiet

As noted above, a belt drive unit is very quiet, now having stated that I actually like to be able to hear the garage door opening when i am in the house, especially when it is NOT expected.
