We are closing on our home in Citrus Grove mid March. It will hopefully be our forever home..moving from NC. We are leaving many friends and family and are looking forward to making new friends! The Villages is so huge! What's the best way to meet new people and friends besides just tapping people on the shoulder in the Squares Haha! Can you just sign up for the clubs? I'm a lap swimmer and used to reserving lanes at our local indoor pool. Can I just show up at the sports pool? Recommended times? Thanks so looking forward to meeting everyone!

Off the districtgov.org -> Departments -> Recreation page there is a club and contact listing on the left and a Recreation & Parks Publication on the right. Both of these will have contact information for each of the clubs. While many(most?) are open, it is simple enough to send an email to the contact and ask.

The Recreation & Parks Publication has a schedule for each of the recreation centers including pool schedules. Searching on "lap swim" should help find what you are looking for.
