so the fire dept. is going to charge us $200 more per house, how about per store and every apartment.

What I saw, heard, and read was that my charge would decrease by around $300. EDIT: Oh, now I see where you read that! It's important to consider the source... not the publication that put the words online, but the author of the words themselves. Some people go out of their way in their efforts to NOT understand an issue. |
As I recall the most recent proposal was based on the AVERAGE TV house value, there was an increase in the fire department cost and an OFFSET to the home tax, so the effect to the homeowner was close to zero. I am trying to remember the effect for houses above and below this level. The bigger hit was to businesses. I believe the article was in the daily Sun within the last month, but I did not keep it.

Notice the OP even said a Wildwood fire department wouldn’t be established. Don’t be so sure on that one! Do you think Sumter county wants to run and fund the fire rescue program forever? City of Wildwood Fire Department |

Do you rent an apartment? If not, then those rates really aren't anything you need to know. Full disclosure---I don't own a store, nor rent an apartment, and I don't care if someone else may or may not be getting a better "rate--it's none of my business. |
