Hhmm, there are those skies again.

Was spending time at a pool in the Southern area of TV about a month ago and my friend and I were both commenting on the criss-cross patterns in the sky. Very deliberate, it appeared, as I have seen in some other geographies, like Western NC.

The contrails are different than that of a commercial jetliner which dissipate very quickly in a couple minutes. We saw those too and their flight paths weren't aligned with the criss-cross pattern. No, the other planes emit something that lingers in the air a loooonng time and spreads outward changing the cloudiness of the sky.

Anyone else notice these interesting skies? How frequently do you see them?

Yes, because I paint them, but I didn’t know what caused them before.
