Where to Purchase Gasoline in TV

We are new to TV and have purchased a gas cart. When we purchased our new home (September 2010), there was a gas station in Colony Plaza and one in Southern Trace (Wedgewood Lane). We moved in November 8th, and now there is only one place to buy gasoline (to my knowlege) and that is in Southern Trace. Since we live in the Pennecamp area, is that our only option now, or can someone tell me another place? I cannot believe that there is only the one gas station in all of TV. There may be one in Spanish Springs area, but isn't that a bit far for those living in the southern most portion of TV? What happens when building and selling starts south of 466A?

The gas station at Colony is open.....again... ;)

We were down there Wednesday, Jan. 5, and the store was open but gas pumps were closed with plastic covers over handles. All lights were on, but pumps not working, but will keep an eye on it. Thanks.

We were in TV after Christmas for a week and also live in the Village of Pennecamp. The Shell across from Colony was open, but WOW. No paper receipts at the pumps, no paper to check the oil and the windshield washing fluid was empty. I splashed a little gas on my hand and wanted to wash it off so I went inside the use the men's room and left without using it. That was the nastiest place I have ever set eyes on in my life. I don't think it has "ever" been cleaned. What filth.... I'll buy gas there because it's close, but expect nothing more from me. And that's a shame because the owner has a great location and could make a fortune if they treated the customers better.

JMO... :ohdear:

There are two stations in Southern Trace...and soon to be third across the street from Walmart.(although the new one will not be cart accessible).

Give it a thought to buy a 5 gal. can and have a supply in your garage. I find that a lot easier than running to the gass station with the cart every time it gets low. This way you can keep the cart topped off with little problem.

Colony station

Before we actually moved here we stopped there. I wanted to get some coffee but there wasn't any working machines (this place seemed to be new and just opening). I think I used the restroom but it left a bit to be desired..can't remember why now. I mentioned something to the cashier and she said it was the management and while she was new there, she was quitting due to "stuff". I've never been back just for these reasons. It always seemed to have vehicles at the pumps and in front of the store...so it "seemed" busy when we drove by. We generally go to Sam's if in T.V. for our gasoline. I'd say if you have a gas cart do as the other poster said and purchase a can and take it home filled.

Goodness, I'm sorry things were not working. It would be a mighty convenient place for gasoline for sooooo many Villagers. It appeared open yesterday morning when we went by, but now I'm not sure if there were just cars in front of the pumps or what.

This station has been open, closed, open, closed, open......wish they'd get their act together!

I will bet that as the area south of 466A develops it should remain open. If you look at the sigange along 466A it is all commercial and the plan is for it to develop like 466, 441, etc
I would seriously think another gas station would also be built there with the increase of folks and businesses.

Colony Plaza Shell

Got gas yesterday but only high test 93 octane was available but I was filling a gas cart so it did not matter. The credit card machine was not working at the pump but the sales clerk was friendly and helpful. Hopefully its new owners and they need some time to work out the kinks.

This station seems incapable of surviving more than a short time. Since its first opening, I'd guess there have been at least four owner changes, and none seem to last.

That's why I always get my gas on Southern Trace. 'Course I do my grocery shopping and such there, too, so it's more convenient.

With the direction gas prices seem to be heading, that's liable to be a bargain come summertime............unfortunately. :)

I have found the cheapest place to consistently buy gas is at Sam's. It seems to always be 7 to 10 cents less than at Southern Trace. As we go to Sam's once a week, it is not problem to fill the car up. A 5 gallon can would solve the cart problem.

CTgolfer 01-09-2011 12:16 PM

We shop gas prices and have found a few locations on 411 that are less than elsewhere. We bring a 5 gallon can, fill the golf cart and fill the car with the remainder... this way we don't store the gasoline in the garage. Works for us.
