I am all for change that brings about improvement. Changes like these are purely special interest driven with absolutely no added value.

As time goes on and more and more special interests become the rule our value system becomes less and less. The devaluation of individualism.

While it would be confusing for an adopted child in a gay (homosexual/lesbian) family to fill out a form that has "mother's name" and "father's name", it is not discriminating against anyone. Like you said, there is no value added to this change.

There is also the re-writing of "Huckleberry Finn" to make it politically correct. That is actually taking away a part of history as the period status of Jim is a vital part of the story.

Political correctness is not a good thing. How about just using common sense?
