Hand surgeon recommendations

I have been getting cortisone shots in my middle and ring fingers on both hands for several years, however; my left hand is not responding to the shots like they have in the past.

Would appreciate any hand surgeon recommendations for "trigger-finger" or Dupuytren's contracture conditions. It is getting more and more difficult to perform normal functions. At the same time I am very apprehensive of a surgical remedy.

Greatly appreciate any input from anyone who has dealt with the same condition and achieved surgical success...Thanks!

Cynthia Harding is always highly recommended.

David E. Feiner, MD

David E. Feiner, MD – Sports Medicine Institute

Highest recommended.

Have you tried Xiaflex? It is an FDA approved drug to treat Dupuytren's contracture.

Didn't last too long...

I had the Xiaflex injections, then they snapped the cord....the Dupuytrens returned in about a year.

I used Harding, but was told she only works 2x/week. That was an issue that arose for me.

I am having right thumb trigger finger surgery on 5/28 with Dr Kathryn Heim, The Orthopaedic Institute. Highly recommended and appointment accessible.

I have Dupuytren’s, went to Cynthia Harding’s office based on reviews. Waited months then only saw PA for a few moments to be told come back in six months to see if it has advanced enough for Xiaflex. Then went to Vikram Mehta. He is in Lake Mary, but office hours in The Villages once a week. Contrary to visit with Dr. Harding’s office, he took X-rays and discussed at length other hand & wrist issues I had before I even brought them up. I had xiaflex injections with him on one hand two years ago, so far successfull. I see him every six-seven months to monitor progression. He is conservative re surgery. Not having had any surgery yet, it looks pretty gruesome online, I cannot give you the input you specifically asked for, but I am very happy with him so far & would recommend an initial consult to see if he works for you

Thank you, I have looked at Dr. Feiner's profile and put him on the short list.

I have only experienced cortisone shots but never Xiaflex. Thank you, I will look into it...

Thank you for the great info re: Dr. Vikram Mehta. I will definitely get in contact with him. Thanks again!
