Golf Course Maintenance

Golfed Havana yesterday before the rain. Cart path only which it should have been due to previous rain, but there were heavy mowing machines cutting the rough which didn't need it and leaving ruts in their wake. So much for oversite of managers (golf and maintenance).

Just another example of checklist mentality without any thought. The contract says "mow daily" or "mow every other day" and that's exactly what they do, regardless of conditions. Somebody with a knowledge of golf maintenance should be out there first thing in the morning to assign work, not just lie in bed while the workers blindly follow a checklist.

I guess I'm confused. If they wait until the rough needs mowing then your fellow golfers will be complaining that the grass is too tall. The " grass experts" who post here are unbelievable. Either the grass is too tall, too short, too wet, too dry. It's never just right.

Grass expert vs. Rut expert??

Your last sentence, if someone wasn’t paying attention, sounded awfully close to a state worker rant! :1rotfl:
