I've heard that developers for another community want to eventually absorb the mfg part of the villages.

Do the people living there have a say?

Never heard that.

Don't think it is possible.

What financial advantage could there be for another developer?

There is a large horse farm in Lady Lake? Weirsdale? that developers want to turn into a manufactured home park. Perhaps someone got their stories mixed up.

Now, where did you hear that?

I'm sorry but your hairdresser's second cousin is not a reliable source of information.....

Another entity could buy Spanish Springs, the championship golf courses or any of the commercial properties. They can not buy the entire area - it is owned by the home owners.

The executives courses, the roads are owned by a government agency (I won’t guess which one, at the risk of being wrong)

What does "absorb" mean?

What are they going to absorb? The county owns most of the roads. The homeowners own their lots. A CDD owns the infrastructure. Another CDD owns most of the amenities. A private owner (Developer) owns the commercial properties. Lot of "absorption" going on.

I've heard that some people hear things and assume they're true, without checking further. And then, these same "some people" take that unverified thing they heard, and present it as factual, to get people to offer their opinions about it.

Post 4had it right , the horse park Grand Oaks has development package of building a large group of manufactured homes and want to annex them into lady lake , I donrblame people in that area for being angry it’s very rural . There are new owners of the Grand Oaks , many f those small horse places went down the tubes when the big horse expo in ocala was built, I went to some weddings out there at grand oaks it was a beautiful setting

Because they usually "heard it" from the guy in the mirror.

Exactly the same amount of say your neighborhood would have when the developer makes a decision.
