Deceased S/S Payment Missing
 

I posted this before and want to make sure this does not happen to you on spouses
deceased S/S payment.

My wife passed on Dec 7th. but her S/S payment in December was missing a couple weeks later.

I thought, ok, she passed in December so there's no December payment ......WRONG!

S/S payments are always figured on previous month, which in my case, she
didn't get her November.

S/S blamed it on the bank, the bank blamed on S/S office.

It took me 4 1/2 months to get that payment back from S/S.

This is very common for death and SS. They pay then take back. Have dealt with this 8 times, bank said not their job to return, it’s SS that takes payment back. I did find once going to SS office at death with certificate, it went smoothly with no gap in check deposit.
But really I would compare SS getting it right, like getting a hole in one.
