It seems like the paver size should be proportionate to the area they enclose, so around the flowers, I say go with the smaller pavers. Up to you, though.

Why are you asking a bunch of strangers on the Internet? Some people think hubcaps nailed to a stake look good as as yard decor? Is it that you care more what other people think rather than what you like?

Why did you bother to chime in with your unhappiness. People like to see things they may be missing. I feel sorry for you that you’re this old and still miserable. To the OP. I also think the smaller ones are nice. I often ask opinions. I may end up not listeneing but I like to hear what others think and mostly their reasoning.
