solar heaters for pools...Need a Repair Person

We've used Jacks Solar for years but it appears they are not doing repairs any longer. Looking for some suggestions for Pool Solar Heating Company that does repairs. Thanks so much...

What does it mean “appears”?

suebanj 06-14-2024 02:16 PM

We were told approximately 3 weeks ago that they would be out to fix the problem. Have left numerous messages and no return calls.... Just asking for a new company to use to fix our solar......

That’s unusual they have always been quick to respond.

Jack had some medical issues and is no longer actively involved in running the company. The guy running things now, Derick, is very knowledgeable but is not a good communicator. I found you will have a much better chance of him returning a text than a phone call. They still do service, but it’s through subcontractors.

I knew something wasn't right. Thanks for the info. But if anyone knows any other pool solar repair person, please let me know. :)

Solar repair

We have used Jack’s, Wayne’s Solar and Fun in Sun from Orlando. Jack’s does not respond, Wayne’s does not come to area much. Put us on list and did not come as of 4 months. Fun in Sun came quickly. They all do good work but hard to get them there.

I've used Pinch A Penny in Leesburg twice. Quick response and happy with their service.

Do NOT use All Solar Energy. Not enough room here to explain. Trust me. Don’t give up on Jack Solar.

Text Derrick at 352-636-9560. Best way to reach Jack's Solar. Still in business.

It does not take imagination. Just an understanding of physics, the Florida environment, and what is a comfortable temperature for a pool owner and his or her intended use of the pool.

Pools warm slowly during the day. They radiate the warmth back into space at night. They radiate during the day, too, but there is a sure energy net loss at night. They also lose energy convectively when the air is below the pool temperature at all hours, and more so when there is air flow. Pool covers can help, but they still are not going to give you a warm pool in the winter and they get quite dirty.

It’s for February March and November. Raises water temp to the 80’s.

Update from Jack’s

I have been trying to contact Derrick from Jacks Solar for a couple of weeks now and tried him very early this morning.
He stated that Jacks Solar is out of business and that I should contact either T&D or Solar Trek!
He also stated that the company phone lines will be shut off at the end of the month!
