Entitled Corvette Vintage Red Owner at Sawgrass

Went to Rocky and The Rollers at Sawgrass Friday. The place was mobbed- so was the parking lot, with many cars and carts driving around looking for a spot. That wasn't a problem for the owner of a Red Vintage Corvette- maybe a 68- but I don't know. He decided to park sideways across 3 spots- 5 actually because anyone who cares about others couldn't park in in spots in front or behind him without blocking him in. Keep in mind that this guy does this everywhere he goes. Yup- this is the world we live in.

When I see something like that, my concern for others falls way off.

OK his car is a very important possession , why bring it to a situation like that if it's that important, claiming a much larger space because YOUR car is so important, certainly I can not condone it but some might be inspired to "key " the guys ride to show how they feel, the perpetrator should be arrested , why tempt fate ?

Should have had it towed. Nice surprise for the owner.

I usually only take two spots with my blue Vette.

i would have parked my car right next to his drivers side door,so close he could not get in :a20::a20::a20:

I did this once at the grocery store. Only available spot was next to a fat lady (found out later) that parked with tire not just on but over the yellow line, and the spaces UpNorth are narrower than in TV. I had no choice but to carefully pull in evenly to both sides of space. When I came out, said fat lady was trying to figure out how to get into her car. She had the gall to ask why I parked so close. I rolled my eyes and pointed to her tire over the yellow line and politely suggested she learn to park better.

And on a related note, does anyone know why the parking at Sawgrass is always such an issue in the evening? Duh, not enough spaces, but why? Did they not anticipate the number of music-goers as building south of 44 continued? And now that it is clearly a major problem, even without idiot Corvette owners parking across 4 spots, why don't they add more spots?

Where do you suggest they "add more parking"?

The entire Market is surrounded by Meggison Road, homes, the Rec Center and the golf course...

Under normal conditions the parking is adequate, we don't go there often but maybe a dozen or more times and never had a problem parking, a few times we had to walk a bit but no worse then at the squares during the winter months. Once Eastlake is up and running things will slow down at Sawgrass and there will be plenty of parking.

Since there is no clubhouse for Southern Oaks, Sawgrass is also the defacto parking lot for the golf course across the street.

“They” are many times, on here, accused of doing something wrong.

You are correct, after looking at a satellite view of the area, there is no longer anywhere to add more spots. It was definitely poor planning. The only viable solution at this point is to only book unpopular bands so there is no competition in the parking lot. :eclipsee_gold_cup:

Quite a few golf cart spots could have added where people were parking (wrongfully) in the grass between Meggison and Sawgrass but was instead turned into landscaping.

I suggest you and another friend who cares, take those spots in front of and behind him, and block him in. You know - at the postal stations, the parking spaces are wide enough to accommodate two golf carts per space. And yet, there are people who will drive their cart across two spaces and park between the two, taking up two spaces for the singular cart.

At times, if it bugged me enough, I have actually parked in the space immediately next to the front end of their cart, forcing them to back up (which was what they were trying to avoid having to do) in order to leave the parking lot.

As long as *I* am parking correctly, my concern for the feelings of the space-hog is minimal, at best.
